Pastor Parker was born in Marion, Alabama. He joined the Air Force after high school in 1990. In January of 1996, He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior after hearing the Gospel preached on the radio. Shortly after accepting Christ, he was reassigned overseas to Turkey. While stationed in Turkey, Burt met Tonya and they were later married on February 23rd, 1999. Burt and Tonya were reassigned to Little Rock Air Force base in Jacksonville, Arkansas. While in Arkansas, he and his wife began attending Jacksonville Baptist Temple, where Dr. Ted Patterson is Pastor. While at JBT, Pastor Parker joined the choir, worked in the bus ministry, taught an adult Sunday school class, and started a military outreach. He also discipled many families and was selected to be a church trustee.

In 2007, Jacksonville Baptist Temple had an opportunity to start a church in the city of Newport, Arkansas. Pastor Parker and his family, along with another family from JBT were commissioned to start the New Testament Baptist Church (now Lighthouse Baptist Church)  where he served for three years as the Pastor. During that time, the church saw men, women, and children place their faith in Jesus Christ to be their Savior. He also led the church in purchasing land and building a new facility, enabling the church to move from its store front location.

On August 2, 2010 Pastor Parker and his family moved to Huntsville, AL to start Lighthouse Baptist Church. Pastor loves teaching the Word of God. He also enjoys watching football and spending time with his wife and son.
